Our Glacier Trips
Our world renowned full day option takes you into superb scenery, deep in the heart of the glacier. The excellent step-cutting skills of your guide allows you to travel through the most spectacular and challenging glacier terrain imaginable, satisfying even the most ardent of adventurers.
The half day trip is a fantastic introduction to an enthralling world of ice, traversing spectacular tracks of only moderate difficulty.
On the heli-hike, after an exciting scenic flight, you land high up on the glacier and undertake a two hour guided hike amongst some of the most pristine and awe-inspiring glacier scenery available.
For an adrenalin packed day, try our ice climbing adventure – a great introduction to this sport whilst still enjoying the dramatic scenery and awesome terrain.
Our Glacier Valley Walk provides a relaxing, interpretive walk through regenerating rainforest right up to the terminal face of the glacier. |

The Glacier
From its origins high in the Southern Alps, the Franz Josef Glacier descends deep into the lush rainforest of Westland’s National Park, from a height of 2700m above sea level to only 240m in as little as 11 km, making it the worlds steepest and fastest flowing commercially guided glacier.
